Locomotive & Train Railwayana - Loco Nameplates  Modern Traction

Modern Traction Nameplates come from both Diesel and Electric Locos and although the earliest naming dates back to 1952 the majority of these locos were named after steam had disappeared. Warships, Westerns, Deltics and Peaks were seen in large numbers while steam was still the main motive power and consequently tend to fetch the highest prices in Auction with the market leader being Nameplates off of the Deltics. Examples of most Classes of nameplates in situ are shown below. If you can help fill in the two gaps please get in touch - Click on the picture for a larger image.
